The Clock Tower is a wonderful original stone detached building situated behind the main hall, and with a modern interior. Amenities include four shower rooms and a spacious family living space, with patio doors opening onto a private decked area.

Ground floor: Living/dining room with patio doors/kitchen with tiled floor. four bedrooms: three double, two with en-suite shower room and toilet, one with en-suite shower room and toilet also accessed by one bunk.

First floor: one double bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet.

Wood-burning in living room (initial fuel supply included). Gas CH (on timer) included, Oct-April (£10 per day, May-September, by arrangement). Electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot.  Freeview TV. DVD. Gas hob. Electric oven. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge-freezer. Decking terrace with sitting-out area and furniture. Shared 19-acre lawned and wooded grounds, with natural parkland. BBQ. Ample parking. FREE Wi-Fi. Direct-dial phone (subject to charges). No smoking. Easy walking access.

Booking period: Friday to Friday. Security deposit of £150.00 payable in advance – this is due two weeks prior to departure and returned one week after departure.

Our sister pub, the Santon Bridge Inn, is only a mile or so away from Irton Hall. Offering a wide range of en-suite accommodation, it also serves home-made food and real ales all day, seven days a week. www.santonbridgeinn.co.uk

Route 1 (recommended route but not in icy conditions)

Leave the M6 at J36 follow signs for Lakes/ Windermere.

Take exit off the A591 onto A590 following signs For Barrow. 3 Miles beyond Newby Bridge turn right onto the A5092. At Greenodd turn right onto the A595. Follow this road past Broughton in Furness then turn right at some traffic lights, just before the river Duddon. Follow this road to Ulpha, cross the river then take the next left, sign posted for Eskdale. Follow this road across Birker Moor, passing the King George IV pub on the left. Following this road into Eskdale Green. After Bower House take the left fork, at the end of this road turn right and the entrance to Irton Hall is on the left.

Route 2 (easy)

As above but stay on the A595 at the traffic lights. At Holmrook take a small lane to Irton.

Route 3 (hard not recommended in bad weather)From M6 at J36 follow signs for Ambleside.At Ambleside Turn left for Skelwith Bridge 1 mile after the bridge turn right down a small road for Little Langdale take the first left then follow the road towards Wrynose pass traverse the pass and descend to Cockley Beck.Turn right and ascend Hardnott pass this drops steeply down into Eskdale. This route goes over the steepest passes in England!Route 4 From Scotland and the North EastLeave the M6 at Carlisle follow signs for Cockermouth on the A595 then for Whitehaven, stay on the A595 until Holmrook, taking a small lane to Irton.

Route 3 (hard not recommended in bad weather)
